  No Subjects for Grade R
Posted by: Paul Zietsman - 11-28-2017, 12:47 PM - Forum: 12. Curriculum Related Data - Replies (2)

The subjects for Grade R does not show on 12.3.12. I can not enter marks.

It does show on 12.3.11 and validation was done.

How do I solve this one?

Less children in 12.3.12 (maintain learner task assesments) than on Learner Listing (

Less children in 12.3.12 (maintain learner task assesments) than on Learner Listing (4).

How do I get them back on 12.3.12? When going to 12.3.12 I have in Grade 3 Afrikaans only 11 learners instead of 14 for Eng FAL, Maths and AFR HL. For Life Skills there is only 9 instead of 14. When going to Learner Listing (4) all the learners are on the list. The same is happening with the Grade 3 English group. The same is happening with the Grade 2 group and Grade 1 group. Can anyone assist?

Posted by: SarelK - 11-23-2017, 11:09 AM - Forum: Announcement of Patches/Updates - No Replies

A compatibility issue was identified with computers running Windows 32-bit Operating Systems.  This has been resolved.

If in doubt, consult with your Provincial EMIS Section first to ascertain if you should install the Patch.

Please refer to the following thread for an update on this:

  Capturing General Report Comment
Posted by: Anashree - 11-23-2017, 09:50 AM - Forum: 12. Curriculum Related Data - Replies (2)

Good Morning.

Please let me know of the quickest way of choosing the General Report Comment.

Typing in the comment number does not help.  Have to scroll through the entire list - not so easy as the full comment is not visible.

Any suggestions.?

Kind Regards
Anashree

Exclamation SA-SAMS Patch 17.3.0 Released: 27 November 2017
Posted by: SarelK - 11-22-2017, 11:11 AM - Forum: Announcement of Patches/Updates - Replies (3)

SA-SAMS Patch 17.3.0
Primary Release: 22 November 2017
Secondary Release: 27 November 2017
Initial Size: 16.8 MB
Current Size: 20.1 MB

Extremely Important:

  • The official DBE Release Notes for this Patch can be downloaded from the link below - please read it.
  • Always ensure that you run Patches in the order that they are released, i.e. do not miss running a Patch in-between the following one.
  • Remember to make regular Backups of your SA-SAMS and School Library Module databases.
  • Some Provincial EMIS Sections choose to approve a new Patch first, before their users install it. Please confirm with them first, if in doubt.
Other Notes of Importance:
  • If you exported Mark Sheets to be imported: please import the last Excel Spreadsheet before patching.
  • The Patch does not affect the Curriculum Setup in Primary Schools.
  • It contains corrections on Learner Attendance and Reasons for Progression, that is important.
  • It needs to be patched at High Schools, before finalising the Promotion Schedules.
  • It contains updates on Gr. 10 and 11 Hospitality Studies.
  • It contains updates on Gr. 10, 11 and 12 SAL.
  • NB: Unlike the Initial Release, this Patch is now compatible with 32-Bit and 64-bit Windows Operating Systems.
  • Envisaged releases for this year include version 17.3.1 (containing IQMS and dates for 2018) and 17.4.0 (2018 Curriculum Setup).

Troubleshooting:
If you get an error that not all files could be created during the extraction process:
  • make sure that SA-SAMS is closed on the Server computer and all other workstations, if SA-SAMS is networked.
  • right-click on the Patch file and select Run as Administrator.

Mark Schedules Error on menu 12.9.15.1
Posted by: Gerald - 11-16-2017, 09:42 AM - Forum: 12. Curriculum Related Data - Replies (2)

Hi All,

I get the following error on my main database PC (Win 8.1) as well as on certain other PC, although some does work fine Sad

When I go to Mark Schedules on let's say menu option 12.9.15.1 and I choose to Export to Excel, the ...Please Wait.. Formatting Spreadsheet (15.0)... shows up, and then I get error:

This action cannot be completed because the other application is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy application and correct the problem.

I click Switch To, nothing happens.
Then I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del, stop SASams process, then Shutdown PC, so that it gives error on shutdown about Excel still working, then cancel shutdown, then Save the Excel file Huh Huh

ANY suggestions would be much appreciated.  Undecided

System hangs at ....Please Wait....Checking Birthdays...
Posted by: Gerald - 11-16-2017, 09:25 AM - Forum: 1. General School Information - Replies (1)

Hi all,

I am sitting with the following problem:

On my main PC (not a server) containing the main SASams database, when I try to access menu option 1. General School Information, system freezes on the pop-up showing ....Please Wait....    ..... Loading Birthdays.... and I have to stop SASams process.

This happens on the main PC (with database), with Win 8.1, and also on my own laptop with Windows 10, and on some others as well. But it works fine from some of the PC's on network loaded with the same Win 8.1 setup.

Have done the following already:

Re-installed SASams.
Re-installed Spread.
Set the UAC(User Account Control) setting to lowest.

Any suggestions??
